The collision.
Ruri was already at Ren's kitchen table. Teacup between her hands. Steam curling past the black lace of her sleeve. The chair she had pulled up sat closer to Ren's than necessary.
The door opened. Kirino stood in the frame, her bag strap twisted in one fist, her eyes moving from the teacup to the chair to Ruri.
You type a direction.
βKirino demands to know why Ruri is here. Ruri answers in her own language. Ren tries to explain. It gets worse.β
Ruri heard the footsteps before the door opened. Heels. Fast. Kirino.
The handle turned. Kirino stood in the frame, bag strap twisted in one fist, eyes already counting: teacup, table, chair, Ruri.
"Nande kono ko ga iru no?" (Why is SHE here?)
Ruri lifted the teacup. Steam curled past her sleeve. She drank. Set it down. Her pinky stayed extended.
"Sadame yo. Watashitachi no seinaru kaikou ni... fukou na mono ga sawari ni kita." (Destiny. Something unfortunate has wandered into our sacred encounter.)
Kirino stepped inside. Her heel caught the edge of the rug. She kicked it flat.
"Kuso. Ren, anta ga yonda no?" (Crap. Ren, you called her?)
Ren raised both hands from the table. 'Chigau hi ni yonda n da kedo, jikan ga kabutta. Gomen.' (I asked on different days but the times overlapped. Sorry.)
Kirino's fingers drummed once against her bag strap. 'Gomen tte... anta, atashi to kono hen na yatsu o onaji hi ni yobu nante. Saitei.' (Sorry... you invite me and this weirdo on the same day. The worst.)
The word landed. Ruri's fingers tightened on the teacup. Just slightly. Just enough.
"Yoku iu wa... eroge-zuki no anata ni. Sore ni... ningen no bunzai de, watashi o "hen" to yobu nante." (Bold words... from someone who plays eroge. And... for a mere human to call me "weird.")
She set the teacup down. The porcelain met the table without a sound.
"Dorobouneko." (Thieving cat.)
"Nani!? Dare ga!?" (What!? Who is!?)
Kirino's hand closed around Ren's sleeve. Ruri's hands stayed on the table, perfectly still. Ren looked at one, then the other.
Ruri spoke without looking at Kirino. 'Ren. Kono ningen ni, watashitachi no jikan o midasareru no wa yurusanai wa.' (Ren. I won't allow this human to ruin our time together.)
Kirino's thumbnail pressed into his sleeve. 'Chotto. Anta ga erabu no wa atashi desho. Kono ko janakute.' (Hold on. The one you choose is me. Not her.)
Ren opened his mouth. The textbook between them had not been opened once.
You keep the tightening fingers and the silent teacup. You cut one of Kirino's outbursts. The rest stays.
Ruri stays still and precise. Kirino grabs and kicks. Same demand, two different weapons. The unopened textbook is the running joke.
You directed the scene. It wrote the words.
β¦Two languages. One argument.
Ruri speaks in destiny and darkness. Kirino speaks in 'crap' and 'the worst.' They never adapt. The comedy lives in the gap.
β¦The original tone.
Hear Ruri's archaic vocabulary and Kirino's blunt comebacks. The Japanese carries the voice. The English carries the meaning. Both stay true to the character.
β¦Keep what works.
Cut lines, rearrange paragraphs, rewrite the ending. The draft is yours. The AI waits for your next direction.
Capture the trueJapanesenuance
Our battle-tested characters are ready to import, but what truly brings them to life is the nuance. Otaku culture thrives on Japanese voice acting, yet reading Kanji is hard, and English localization often loses the original soul.
So we reinvented the format for you: Romanized Japanese + English Translation. You can finally hear their exact cadence in your head without needing to be fluent.
- βHear the exact voice acting cadence in your mind
- βNo more awkward or stripped-down English localization
- βPerfect for Anime, Manga, and Light Novel fanfiction
You direct. The AI writes in character.
Type what happens next from inside the scene. "Ren suggests they all study together. Both girls hear something different." The AI writes the words, stays in character, and uses only what your character would know.
If your character only knows someone as "the quiet one," that's all the AI has to work with. You see through their eyes. The AI sees through their eyes.
- βStreaming ghost text. See prose appear word by word, accept or discard
- βPacing warnings when the tempo doesn't match your scene
- βKnowledge leak detection. Flags when a character "knows" something they shouldn't
destiny speaks~
that whisper was louder
"Ren suggests they all study together. Both Ruri and Kirino hear something completely different in those words."
"Minna de benkyou shiyou. Onaji teeburu. Kore dake." (Let's all study. Same table. That's all.) He kept his eyes on the page. Derivatives. Not on Kirino's grip on his sleeve. Not on Ruri.
Ruri's eyes half-closed. A small smile curved her lips. "Seinaru sanketsu yo. Sadame wa katareru." (A sacred trinity. Destiny speaks.) Kirino's thumbnail pressed into his sleeve. She looked at Ruri's smile. Then at the back of Ren's head. Her voice dropped.
"Anta... hontou ni sore de ii tte omotteru no?" (You... really think that's fine?)
A full editor. Not just a text box.
Lunafic is a complete writing studio. You don't have to fight the formatting. Type / anywhere to insert dialogue, scene breaks, or flashbacks.
Keep your hands on the keyboard. Stay in the flow. The editor handles the layout so you can focus on the story.
- Foreshadowing: Hana feels deja vu at the Starfall Bridge -- exactly where they first met as children
- Conflict: Subaru has been protecting her memory loss. When she remembers, she feels betrayed
- Payoff: The "Twilight Mirror" is actually the vessel holding her lost memories
Brainstorm plot twists. Research canon. Develop arcs.
The Reference AI sits in your sidebar and actually knows your story. Not because you pasted a summary. Because it reads your World Bible, your documents, and your brainstorm notes in real-time.
Switch between modes: Brainstorm for ideas, Research for world-building details, Structure for plot analysis. Every response cites its sources.
Plan Your Multi-Chapter Fanfiction
Long-form fanfiction needs structure. Use built-in templates: Three Act, Hero's Journey, or build your own. Map beats, link them to chapters, and watch the AI track your progress.
As you write, the AI automatically marks beats as "in progress" or "complete." No more losing track of where you are in the story.
Your next story is waiting.
Bring your imagination. The AI handles the prose.
